What is the EmployCheck?

EmployCheck is a third-party provider of employment and income verification information. It is a service of PreCheck, a premier background investigations services company in the United States.

How does it work?

EmployCheck provides employment verifications and income history through this website or by fax. The information we report is routinely received from a large and growing number of employers. The service provides two levels of verification:

• Basic verification, which includes an employee's name, job title, dates of employment, and current status (active or separated).


• Complete verification, which includes an employee's name, job title, dates of employment, current status (active or separated), and payroll data (including pay frequency, gross earnings for the year to date and the past 2 years). This level requires a Salary Key that is provided by the employee.

How much do verifications cost?

Prices vary between the mode of information access as well as the type of report being requested. Please refer to our pricing page for more information.

Do I need to register to use this service?

If you are a verifier, you must register as a verifier to use our system. First-time registrants will undergo an approval process prior to you being able to access the system.

If you are an employee, you may contact us at 888-279-4504 to create or obtain your User Name and PIN to generate salary keys online.

How do you protect confidentiality?

PreCheck has a long history of secure management of confidential information. For EmployCheck, this protection includes:

• Use of network intrusion detection and prevention technology.
• Industry-leading security practices.
• Access monitoring and control at physical site.
• Use of 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layers) encryption, the strongest browser-supported encryption available today.
• A Salary Key is required for verifiers to access income information. This key is available only from the employee whose history is being verified.
• All Verifiers must be registered with EmployCheck, and must provide both the correct company code and Salary Key.

How does an employee dispute the information in their verification?
